Hello all,
Biostar is a major contribution to the scientific world both in terms of code design and social way of ranking the community answers. I have been taking an outsider's view on various aspects of Biostar 'experiment' and chatted with some of you over email over the last three weeks.
My first three commentaries are here and two others will follow. Please feel free to correct any error I may have made.
- Biostar, Biological Communities and Biological Databases
- Biostar I – Discussions with Biostar’s Istvan
- Biostar II – the Code
In the coming one (here), I will post comments from few heavy users, non-users and someone, who quit Biostars after being a heavy user.
Khader sent comments later and I added them as a separate commentary.
The final commentary (here) summarizes all observations based on my dark-colored/rose-colored/color-blind looking glass.

Thanks for taking time to put this up...very interesting info on "Biostar"
You are welcome. I will do the same with most other biological databases and communities, as time permits.
