Hi all,

I was wondering if any algorithm to predict the presence of operons from gene annotations in bacteria is available to be applied on newly sequenced genomes. It seems like the only solutions available are operonDBs (like this and this), with a restricted number of genomes in which this annotation has been made available.

many thanks

Quick web search for "operon prediction" throws up many more results and methods than those in your question.

Indeed there are some interesting hits by using just a google search, but it looks like that this kind of analysis still lacks a good semi-automatic software; all the the papers on the subject are either quite old (with broken download links) or lack the source code. The only software I was able to fetch comes from this article.
