Hi,

my question is:

how two strands of a DNA molecule are coded in a chromosome file in fasta format. Are each line coded each strands or first half of the file codes one strands and the other half codes the second strands?

Thanks

The fasta format does not specify about which strand is being used. Anyway, all lines are from the same strand.

You have to convert the file to to get the reverse strand. For more information of how can you do it, please read here: Command line tool to obtain complementary and/or inverse strand from fasta files
