The Newcastle University Bioinformatics Support Unit (BSU) has an 8-year history of supporting cutting-edge research in the Faculty of Medical Sciences. As part of a significant investment in bioinformatics by the Faculty, the unit is expanding to help meet the demands of vastly increased high throughput data generation.
We currently have 4 openings for support bioinformaticians within the Unit. One will be based full time in the BSU, dealing with core support requests from across the Faculty of Medical Sciences. The other 3 will work within research groups with a Bioinformatics focus in one of our highly regarded research institutes, and will be responsible for building collaborations and supporting research within that host institute, as well as contributing to our expanded training programme and skills transfer agenda.
