Hi all.

I'm working on a college project and I seem unable to find complete genome sequences for Deinococcus hopiensis and Deinococcus radiodurans (ideally retrievable in FASTA format). GenBank didn't seem to have either genome available when I searched the nucleotide database.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
~Caitlin

At NCBI, I usually start by searching the Taxonomy database with the species name. Clicking through the results will get you to a page like this one. It has a box at top-right linking to other databases, including genome project data.

I would also use the Integrated Microbial Genome resource from JGI. Here is the page for Deinococcus hopiensis KR-140, DSM 18049. It states that the genome is finished. You'll need to create a (free) account and login to access the data at the Download link.

It should be searchable in the genome database. D. radiodurans has 2 chromosomes and 2 plasmids. D. hopiensis doesn't seem to have its genome assembled.
