Draw Histogram Outside A Circle

I need to draw a figure like this:

I can draw the circle part by illustrator, the difficult is the histogram outside the circle, the circle represents 16569 positions, for each position, I have a number to show as a bar, anyone know any module can do this? Thanks in advance.

DNAPlotter can draw circular genome sequences (it was developed for bacterial/archaeal chromosome rendering). I believe it also renders quantitative information as well, but rendered in the same fashion. If you want something like the above I suggest combining with something that gives you a histogram, like Alex's recipe.
