Hello,

I am trying to understand a script that uses allele counts (that is the counts of allele 1 and 2) to calculate fst using the weir and cockerham estimator.

However, at one point, one should calculate the average heterosygote frequency for allele A as it is stated on page 1360 of Weir and Cockerham 1984. For that, one need to know the observed proportion of individuals heterosygous for allele A.

Having only allele count, one cannot say how many individuals have been heterozygote, however, the script works but I can't understand this part.

Any idea would be appreciated, thanks!
