I would like to know if these low identities are normal. I did a BLASTp against ACLAME database of all proteins of the bacterial genome I'm analysing, keeping only first hit. The idea was to make some inferences about the origin of the species to which hits belong but with these low percentage of identities, could make non sense to perform such analysis.

Attached are the BLASTp results in graphic format. enter link description here

Cutoff: >40% identities, >90% query coverage, only first hit retained.
