I'm a fresh undergraduate from India. A full professor from the Institute of Biosciences-UNESP is generous to help me get a fellowship that will provide me USD 675/month. I've been working with a Post-Doc in his lab for ~1 year now and would be publishing our results soon. I've enjoyed my e-collaboration with him and really like the research done in his lab. Apart from this, based on my work so far, he has given me a recommendation letter for my applications as well.
He also mentioned that though there is very less emphasis on classes, but all those that are, would be in Portuguese. Yes, I don't know Portuguese yet!
I was wondering how good is the institute and the city in general for international students?
P.S: I've applied to several places in US, EU for graduate programs, but haven't yet received decisions for the same. Will it be wise to choose Sao Paulo State University before getting my results from elsewhere?
