Tomorrow finish the Organization applications of this year 2014 GSoC

I am exited to help one project but which are the ones that haven already applied?

Have the same institutions listed on the post from last year post already applied?

  • Crowd Sourcing Biology at the Scripps Institute
  • Dept. of Biomedical Informatics, Emory University
  • NESCent (National Evolutionary Synthesis Center)
  • NRNB (National Resource for Network Biology)
  • SciRuby (Ruby Science Foundation)
  • SHOGUN (Shogun Machine Learning Toolbox)
  • Bioconductor (r)
  • Genome Informatics group (GMOD + Reactome, PortEco, WormBase, SeqWare)

Anyone interested too to apply as a student? What are your interests?

Reading about the organisation I will probably propose an idea, or apply for one of the list

This last Friday the student application deadline. I hope that you can cover the projects of your organization or find a project to do this summer if you are a student like me. (If you see my proposal and has some ideas to improve it, please let me know ).

Good luck

This year I found this organisations related to bioinformatics.

If anyone knows others, please comments to add them.

BioStar heros, is the Jobs section suitable to write up one post for each organization (by the mentor organizers themselves!)?

not sure if these warrant an individual job post - after all each is just a proposal that may or may not be accepted. I would suggest creating forum posts that relate to each project

Well, it is not generating much discussion and many views. So maybe for the moment keeping it in one post is easier.

Yeah, one post in "wiki" mode makes perfect sense... just wanted to make sure it was not limited to a few projects...
