Hi everyone, I want to install shovill to learn genome assembly, but I have Windows not Linux! I could not get it via anaconda. Do you have a solution how I can install it on Windows version 7 ? Best regards Rima
A: Required packages during Cygwin installation for bioinformatics work
This answer links you to install guide to use the Windows Subsystem for a Linux installation. On this you can then run your Unix stuff.
You may want to upgrade to Windows 10 to use the Bash subsystem for Linux or dual-boot A linux distro. Another option is to run a VM if your computer has sufficient resources to support one.
You aren't going to be able to install shovill on Windows 7. You're better off using someone else's computer and installation of shovill. Shovill is available as a tool on usegalaxy.org - I recommend trying out Shovill there.
