The Bismark output gives you methylation information for both strands. To get the relative genome-frequency of methylation in a specific context, for example CpG, should I multiply the genome size by 2, when I consider results for both strands?. For instance I have 500 methylated CpG on the + strand and 60 on the - strand and the size of the gene is 30 000. Is then the gene-specific frequency of CpG (500+60)/(30000*2) ?
