Hello everyone, I am scanning AMR genes in some genomes for a project. I know there should be a balance between coverage and identity, the higher for both the more homologous the sequences, but I would like to know if I should pay more attention to one of the two. My theory is that since I am searching for AMR genes, having the whole sequence (high coverage) is more important than having some residues that don´t match (low identity), as probably these "mutations" could even promote resistance in some cases. I appreciate any ideas on this topic.
