Hello

I am using blastn to screen sequences and I am using -max_target_seqs 1. Of course I am getting the warning Warning: [blastn] Examining 5 or more matches is recommended. Is it possible to turn off this warning?

Thank you

it is nice to see though they took the grievances of the community into consideration and thus added this warning ....

it almost looks like the system works :)

never seen that before, is that a new recent thing? (then again, I stopped using that max_target_seqs parameter some time ago)

on the other hand, why do you want to get rid of that?

just for cosmetic reasons, nothing serious...

Add 2>/dev/null to the end of your command?

I don't think you can remove that warning. In fact, you will get a similar warning if you set -num_descriptions or -num_alignments to a number smaller than 5.
