adjusted p-values in meta-analysis

Hi, I'm trying to do a meta-analysis of 4 studies (microarrays and RNA-seq). I'm using the rma function from the metafor package, with the DerSimonian-Laird (DL) method. If I want to identify differentially expressed genes, do I have to calculate the adjusted p-values from the p- values I have obtained? Do you think DL is a suitable method? Thank you so much for your help!

I have doubt that the metafor is the right package to use for this kind of job unless you want to do things from the scratch. Anyway, for gene expression meta-analysis there are a number of packages and approaches. Check this link for an updated review of the different approaches.

Thank you very much for your time and help! I will take a look at the other packages (although in principle metafor is the package used by my group, so I just wanted to know if there was a more suitable method than DL). As for the p-value, it is still not clear to me if it is necessary to adjust it after the meta-analysis or not. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you so much again.
