Generating random bed with interval lenghts following exponential distribution

I am working with DRIP-seq result and I would like to generate a control file with random peaks. I have found bedtools.random .html which seems like it's exactly what I need, except that the interval length can be only set as a fix value. https://bedtools.readthedocs.io/en/latest/content/tools/random The peaks in my real life samples follow an exponential distribution, so I would like the random control to be similar to that.

EDIT: seems like bedtools.shuffle could work for this problem
