I've read information that if Illumina reads lenght looks like 101bp,151bp,251bp, 301bp, etc., someone have to remove the last (one trailing) nucleotide from 3' end of the read before any preprocessing steps. I'm wondering if it's indeed necessary? Can you help me please?

No you don't need to remove that base. If you are the worrying kind you could do that if you are doing de novo assembly work. Aligners will soft clip that base if it does not align with a reference.
