Is Ensembl VEP down right now?

Hi everyone,

For the past three days, I have not been able to access Ensemble Variant Effect Predictor (VEP). The website keeps saying "The Ensembl web service you requested is temporarily unavailable..." See the attached screenshot for details. Because I currently live in South Korea, I can't check whether this is a region-specific issue or not. I'd appreciate if people from other parts of the world can comment on this.

P.S. I was able to access Ensemble VEP as recent as last week. I also tried accessing via asia.ensembl.org with no success. I also made sure the issue is not specific to my IP address.

Yes, tried: https://www.ensembl.org/Homo_sapiens/Tools/VEP getting below message:

This site is currently in maintenance mode and has limited functionality. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We are working to restore full functionality.

Thanks for the reply. Do you mind sharing your location so I know the problem is not region-specific (i.e. we're both in Asia)?

I just realized that your (and zx8754's) error message is different than what I originally had -- and I now also get the same error message. I think there is sufficient evidence to conclude that it's a problem in the main Ensemble VEP server, not an issue restricted to a local mirror of the server (e.g. Asia). Thank you both for letting me know.

It looks like Ensemble VEP (web interface) is still down from my end.
