Hey guys,

I have been using galaxy software for a long time for analysis and project work, I felt it was time I started to learn coding and packages like bioconductor to advance in the field. I am just a beggginer in coding who has learnt basics of R. Is there any good tutorials which you can suggest me for learning bioconductor from the scratch and progress efficiently. I also want to learn biopython too, so open to any suggestion for biopython.

Bioconductor isn't something you can "learn", IMHO. It's a collection of packages. Some of them are tools (e.g., DEseq2) while others are just data repositories and such. It's too many packages to get to know at once anyway. It might make more sense to just try and follow a RNA-seq tutorial in R the first time around.

Don't mix and match the two.

You can't quite learn R and Python at the same time. The languages are substantially different, even after knowing both, it takes time to boot your mind into one versus the other.

Learn one well, follow the tutorials, and once you are confident and once you need functionality that is not available in that environment then learn the other.

In my opinion, start with R and Bioconductor first.

I learned python first and help me to learn R after that.
