How much would it cost to do a de novo assembly (plus annotation) of a jellifish genome?

I found this paper https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-020-16801-9 and I was wondering how much their budget could have been per jellyfish.

They've used PacBio and Hi-C data to generate a high-quality genome which is what I'd like to do as well.

The annotation should also be of highest quality.

Are there any "grown up" scientists around that have made a budget for an assembly of a species with similar size?

I just found this pricing chart of PacBio but I'm worried weather this would truly include all computing cost.

The total lenght of Sanderia malayensis is 184,371,355

Thank you so much for your help!

By "grown up", do you bioinformatically illiterate ? :-)

But to be serious, you don't mention the desired quality you're looking to achieve.

Do you want absolutely top quality ? ie. PacBio Hifi + Illumina ? Do you want excellent quality ? i.e nanopore + Illumina Good quality but budget ? Nanopore only. Draft quality ? Illumina only?

Same goes for annotation, what's your goal ?

184 mb is not big for a genome, so assembly should be easy enough. Annotation is always very hard and time consuming, especially of manual.

Lastly, who is going to do the work ? In what country? At a company ? Or academic lab ?

All very very significant variables.

Bioinformatics grown-ups aint enough :-) I'm looking for people who have previously done this work and have a rough idea of pricing.

I was also wondering how long the pacbio sequel would really be running given the size of that genome, as I've seen some offers who charge by the hour e.g. annotation cost per hour as here.

Others keep their pricing secret like this German University.

I have asked for some quotes but as this is for a project that might not even happen I'm reluctant to bother people for video calls when all of it is still very much in the air.
