Many wetlab personel have little to no idea on the problems faced by bioinformaticians when it comes to designing the experiment, for example in RNA-Seq data analysis, we look for Biological replicates and not really bother about technical replicates. What are some of the problems you faced?

Things from personal experience:

  1. Data from hypothesis-free "experiments". In transcriptomics, this can become extremely descriptive, and it may be hard to craft a research question lateron. You can end up with tons of data with limited value.
  2. Underestimating the time it takes to learn sequence- and data analysis. This takes months to years, and you need concise sources.
