Hi all,
i am embarking on creating a custom reference panel by selecting specific samples. my question is how do I select the samples? i can see that the plink distance matrix would be a good option, but otherwise, can you advise what other options are there?
why do you need a reference set of samples?
i want to create a reference panel for imputation, and for that i want to select the most appropriate samples. i a not sure if this is done before, but i searched and couldn't find any. i know i can use PLINK or bcftools to select specific samples, but the trick is that i want to identify the appropriate ones. i was thinking of using the plink distance or matrix option, but is there anything else?
