Identification of cell types/groups in single-cell data

I was looking into single-cell data analysis and I'm wondering if anyone knows about a paper that reviews which methods are used to group cells (i.e. cell types) in single-cell data

Is this a topic (cell grouping) that already has well-established methods or is this an active area of research and development?
