We have postdoctoral positions available at the Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
These three-year, fully-funded appointments will support you in your path to a career as an independent scientist. We are a very multidisciplinary department, including scientists who are experts in data science, physics, molecular biologists, biochemists, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, data scientists, and community-based researchers, all working towards the goal of improving the health and environment of human populations. The atmosphere of the department is very collaborative, diverse, and supportive, perfect for new investigators who are interested in high-impact research. We work on the effect of environmental pollutants and human health, from the molecular level to the community level. We invite you to apply to one of our fully-supported postdoctoral positions.
Criteria
- Doctoral degree (PhD, ScD, MD, DO) in any discipline
- Interested in environmental medicine or public health, especially in children
- Must be U.S. citizen or green card holder
General Topics Environmental medicine and public health are broadly defined to include, for example, the effects of stress, nutrition, socioeconomic factors, chemical exposures in children or in pregnancy/perinatal health.
Examples of current projects
- Computational methods for analyzing toxicity of pollutants in children
- Use of technology in community-based health interventions to reduce misinformation and increase health literacy in populations of color in New York City
- Use of big data in community-based participatory research in children and adolescents
- International collaborations in pediatric environmental health sciences
