what is the significance of KEGG pathway in biological annotation of genes.
what is the significance of KEGG pathway in biological annotation of genes.
KEGG is a way of mapping how genes work together and contribute to higher order processes within the cell. A pathway is a process through which molecules traverse from one form to another, a map of how biochemistry happens. Biochemistry is facilitated by gene products, and KEGG is a mapping of genes onto the pathway. See https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5210567/ for a bit of review.
