ModuLand gives non-readable names to nodes

Hello! Can you please help me with the following?

I run ModuLand on the STRING-generated network. As a result I obtain small network, as expected, but the node names are STRING identifiers (like "9606.ENSP00000234798"), not readable gene names. Is there easy way to make ModuLand present normal gene names? For original STRING network I had normal gene names as node names.

Thanks and regards, Oleksii

Hi Oleksii,

I'm not familiar with ModuLand, but typically in string networks, we use the "display name" column and map that to the label using a passthrough mapping. Can you take a look at your node table for the ModuLand network and see if the "display name" column is there? If so, just change the mapping for Label in the Node Style Panel.

Thank you for the reply. ModuLand does not provide much of the choice which data columns to use. As a workaround I have found that exporting STRING network to the file and importing it from the file helps to avoid these names like "9606.ENSP00000234798".
