At DTU Biosustain we develop the next generation (bio) technology using synthetic biology techniques. We create novel methods and technologies as a foundation for development of new environment friendly products, better and less energy consuming manufacturing processes, new medical treatments, climate friendly farming, etc. In other words, we try to solve some of the biggest challenges in the history of mankind, and you will get the chance to add your personal mark to this.
Information and data architecture within Data Warehouse and Data Lake platform You will join a new team and play a pivotal role in taking our data management to the next level. You will make your important contribution via maintenance and further development of information and data architecture related to our existing Data Warehouse and Data Lake platform. Your work will be founded on an agile mindset, where we use a combination of Scrum and Kanban. Your primary tasks will be:
- Maintenance and development of the implemented data model and data architecture
- To build ETL and data synchronization pipelines
- Collaboration with software engineers on ensuring data safety and security while accessing data though internally created software
- Mentoring of junior software developers and engineers
- Ensure appropriate data governance across the data storage platform

3+ years of experience with data modelling, data architecture and data engineering
To succeed, in this position you must be a quick learner with a curious mind for knowledge in and outside your primary field of expertise. Naturally, you love working with data. What makes you stand apart in a positive way is your ability to communicate complex problems in a simple and easy-to-understand way to your partners, that not necessarily have your own expert knowledge. You must also thrive on driving things forward and make decisions, also without knowing the full picture. As you will be part of a centre, where collaboration is a cornerstone, you must also be a teamplayer and like to share knowledge and ideas. Additionally, your CV comprises:
- A degree in computer science or related field
- 3+ years of experience with:
- Data modelling, data architecture and data engineering
- On-premises and cloud technologies
- Relational databases (PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server)
- Programming languages (Python and SQL)
- Git
- Docker
Motivation for building skills within
- Microsoft Azure
- Full-text indexing and NLP (Elasticsearch or Lucene)
- Graph databases (Neo4J)

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
