Hi all, is there any source that mentions how to interpret the arcs in the Sashimi plots? My exact question is that why do the arcs alternate between the positive and negative strands? Is it random or how it is defined? (My reads are unstranded).
There is this source about Sashimi plots but I could not find an answer to my question.
Any help is appreciated - thank you.
genes are strand-specific. transcription goes from either positive or negative strand. thus, your RNA-seq captures only those. arcs are just junctions.
Thank you for your reply. Yes I get what you say - my question was more about; is it random that the arcs are depicted on above or below of a gene body in IGV or there is biology behind it?
It is non random but there is no biological meaning in this
