Hey everyone,

So recently I tried running HUMAnN on my virtual_box ubuntu and left it running overnight only to see the status 'killed' appear on the terminal.

I used the 'dmesg | grep -i kill' to look at the cause of this and said it's killed cause of out of memory.

Could anyone please tell me what I can do to increase the memory for my virtual_box ubuntu or any other way to overcome this hurdle?

Many thanks in advance.

I do not think you can run HUMAnN on a virtual machine unless you have a computer with at least 32 GB of RAM; HUMAnN 2.0 requires >= 16 GB of RAM.

A possible way to solve this problem is to run HUMANnN 2 on Galaxy

Just wanted to give an update on this;

I increased my Virtual_box base memory for ubuntu and tried running HUMAnN and it's working now!
