For whatever reason my mac is unable to open RStudio, " RStudio cannot be opened because of a problem " and there is a library missing? I even asked my departments IT for help but they weren't able to solve it.

R 4.1.2 is already installed and there's no problem opening the console, and RStudio is in applications but just won't open (RStudio-2022.02.0-443.dmg)

I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything (including removing R folders - go to ~/library, etc, emptying trash, etc), and also updated my security software but nothing. Any suggestions?

My iMac is on version 10.14.6, with Intel Core i7

Current RStudio requires a 64-bit operating system. Can you confirm?. You should download an older version of Rstudio if you need 32-bit version.

You seem to have a problem with a library not loading based on the screenshot above.

I would download and install Anaconda-navigator for OSX, i.e. the GUI version of Anaconda and run it from there.

I have to use RStudio for the project unfortunately :(

I think they mean you should run RStudio through Conda.

Sorry for not being clear: running R-studio via conda via the Anaconda-navigator which provides a nice GUI with the R-studio icon. You just click it and you are straight into R.

You can sort out an R specific environment later. It is very likely to work. Happy to discuss why if needed.
