Why is an effective length of a trasncript better than normal length?

Hello,

I would like to ask, why is the effective length of transcript (which is used in for example RSEM or Salmon) better than normal length of transcript?

Because it accounts for the (potentially different) fragment lengths and biases between samples. See this post.
