Hello.
This character made some issues when I used Genbank files' contents.
Here an example of '>' usage in a Genbabk file:

 gene 957467..>957886
                 /locus_tag="BME_RS04610"
                 /old_locus_tag="BMEI0926"

I couldn't find what '>' signifies. Does anyone knows?

It implies that the gene is partial on the 3' end. See https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Sitemap/samplerecord.html for a description of all of the terms on a GenBank flat file.

incomplete one is represented by ">" at the end for 3', not in between as user post.

edit: @ vkkodali is correct. Here is the copy/pasted text from NCBI resources with example:

The > symbol indicates partial on the 3' end.

Example: 4821..>5028. The feature extends from base 4821 through base 5028 and is partial on the 3' end.

Regardless of the position of > at the end as in 435..915> or in between as in 4821..>5028, > implies partial on 3'end.
