How can I download from NCBI site assembly for specific genes involved in mRNA processing for eg for species like yeast or other species as well which is available? I am able to filter and see it in genome data viewer however not sure if I can gather that information for all chromosomes at once. I wanted to know if there is an efficient way to do it.

Thank you in advance!

I don't know if NCBI can deliver what you want here. A somewhat efficient way, assuming you have accession numbers for proteins of interest, is to download the whole proteome and then extract a subset of interest. There are multiple threads on this site about extracting only certain sequences from a large database based on their ID numbers.

For yeast specifically you may be able to get these protein groups from SGD.

Thank you so much! I my case I am interested in knowing about genes involved based on that specific function. I don't have accession number however is that the information that I can pull up while searching on NCBI site and extract that information later?

I am not sure I understand what you exactly want? Are you looking to download those genes, see example below.

Hi,

Thank you so much! Yes, that's what I was exactly trying to search and not able to download it.

I don't have accession number just wanted to which genes are involved in that role and size of it.

Best wishes, Disha
