Basically its one job but they didnt want to limit people to having a masters degree or not, but UPenn has separate levels based on that (very old school) so they made the position open to both A/B (BSc vs MSc essentially). He/She will have prior experience with bioinformatics and familiarity with high-performance computing environments. He/She will have prior experience with sequencing data analysis and wet lab work (e.g. RNA-seq, CHIP-Seq, ATAC-seq, CITE-seq, single cell, basic tissue culture techniques and basic molecular biology). He/She must have demonstrated proficiency with the R data analysis ecosystem, and have experience with git, Bash, data visualization, markdown, and large data wrangling. Have a basic understanding of how single cell technology and sequencing works. In addition, previous experience with Python, Rust, and/or machine learning would be an asset but not required.
Bioinformatician B - He/She will have the duties outlined above, with the additional expectation that He/She will show a higher degree of independence and previous experience with Python, Rust, and/or machine learning. He/She will also assist in the generation of data visualizations to report results in collaboration with clinical and basic scientists.

Bioinformatician A: Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. The applicant should have a degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, human genetics, or a related field, and a sound understanding of both biology and statistics. They must have demonstrated proficiency with the R data analysis ecosystem, and have experience with git, Bash, data visualization, markdown, and large data wrangling. They should also have a basic understanding of how single-cell technology and sequencing work.
Bioinformatician B: Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, human genetics, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Additional expectation that He/She will show a higher degree of independence and previous experience with Python, Rust, and/or machine learning.
The candidate must have the ability to meet aggressive goals and high-quality standards with support from senior bioinformaticians, analysts, and molecular biologists.
