How can we Convert .smp files downloaded from "https://ftp.ncbi.nih.gov/pub/mmdb/cdd/cdd.tar.gz "to .hmm files ?
Can you provide an example of the .smp format? Have you tried anything using basic linux tools like cut, awk, sed, or in whatever language you know?
Example of .smp files, top lines from the file.
I haven't tried anything using linux tools yet, not sure how to convert the file into .hmm format. Could you please help?
