The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Southern Denmark invite applications for a postdoctoral fellowship within the field of bioinformatics to be filled as soon as possible, earliest by 1 September 2022, for a period of one year, extendible for another year.
The selected candidate will develop a proof of concept framework for detecting disease-specific antibodies in proteomics datasets. More specifically, the research project entails the analysis of millions of B-cell receptor sequences by machine learning to determine relevant antibody peptides for detection in proteomics datasets. These peptides will be confirmed by re-searching public and in-house proteomics data using modern identification algorithms.
We are seeking outstanding candidates with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, who are strong in written and oral communic ation (i n English) and have documented experience in machine learning (in particular deep learning) and bioinformatics. Expertise in handling and understanding protein mass spectrometry data is an advantage, but not a requirement. The successful candidate will participate in independent research projects and assist in the supervision of undergraduate students.
Deadline: 6. September 2022
