Hello experts,
I have small data where i need calculate statistical significance but since the sample size is very small i am not sure which method to use and can i call any of significance because of the small numbers?
Here for example Gene group 1
has 14 presented with phenotype 1
how can i say this is statistical significant?
Any help would be much appreciated
Thank you for your time
If I understood it correctly, the test you are looking for is Fisher's exact test, in which you compare two groups (Gene group 1 and Gene group 2) and compare among those groups how many have phenotype I and how many don't. You should get a 2X2 table and run the test.
@asaf Thank you for your response. Is it possible to use the other groups as well? the "other gene group" and "All VUS" to compare among all those 4 groups? 4x4 table using the Fisher's exact test? Thank you
You could do that with Chi-square test. Just pay attention to what the test actually tests and how to determine which gene group is actually enriched.
