Hi all,

I read the manual of org.Hs.eg.db and still don't clear about what it does. Would you please explain with a sample that a novice can understand?

It is a human genome annotation package, from Entrez Gene IDs of your genes, you can retrieve a lot of useful annotation such as Gene Ontology, KEGG pathways, conversion to other identifiers (ENSEMBL, RefSeq, ...). It is needed when you have to perform Gene Ontology over-representation analysis, GSEA, conversion of your genes identifiers, where it will be used as a parameter (see OrgDb here for example : https://www.rdocumentation.org/packages/clusterProfiler/versions/3.0.4/topics/enrichGO).
