How Wald test calculates p-values in DESeq2?

After getting (LFC) Log2foldChange how p-values are calculated for each gene in samples by Wald test? by results function we get p-values how they are calculated ?

The answer will be the z-test for two samples:

z = ( ¯x1 − ¯x2) -D / √σ1^2/n1 + σ2^2/n2)

Where ¯x1 is the mean from the collected cancer samples and ¯x2 is the mean of the collected normal samples.
