Pipelines for ancestry inference of a single sample?

Hi, I would like to know which pipelines are standard / currently being used to determine a VCF sample's ancestry from reference populations and where I could find a detailed tutorial to follow. In particular, I am looking to obtain a sample's % to each population, as many commercial companies do. I've seen some software that plot the ancestry components as a PCA but then I am not sure how they assign the % corresponding to each population. Thanks.
