Hello biostars,
Q 1 of 2: This is the first of two questions; the second is related, but different enough to warrant a distinct question.
I am a statistical genomicist by training, and have only done a few studies that have heavily involved semantic relationships between medical ontologies.
In genomics, I could say, "I want to label these genetic variants with cell-type specific histone markings" and there would be a half dozen resources to do that.
I am looking for an analogous resource in clinical informatics. Suppose I have a list of a few hundred ICD-10 codes, and I want to label them according to ontologies of interest, like so:
Input1 (ICD10 codes): R12.1, T11.3, N28.9, Z00.5
Input2 (effects on, or association with, the following): Hypo/Hypertension, Obstructive Uropathy, Hyper/HypoOsmolality, Shock, etc. etc.
Output:
ICD10 Blood Pressure Osmolality ...
R12.1 Increased - ...
T11.3 Decreased Increased ...
N28.9 - - ...
Z00.5 - Decreased ...
The resource does not have to do exactly this, I just want to see what is out there in terms of automated annotation of - and grouping of - ontologies according to other terms and higher order categories.
