I am looking at how taking different drugs alters the expression of the GAT1 transport protein (Gene code SLC6A1), the drugs I'm looking to see the effects of are opiates such as morphine, as well as cannabis, melatonin and levodopa

I am trying to use GEO database but it gives me a lot of results. Which one do I need to select for further studies? Can anyone suggest me other databases?

Which one do I need to select for further studies?

We cannot possibly know the answer to this question. You and any other researchers you are working with are in the best position to discuss additional criteria for further refining your GEO search. Some things to consider might including filtering on publication date and sequencing platforms.

In your post you state that you found a considerable number of studies in GEO when you used these drugs as search terms. To me this means that yes - you can data in GEO from experiments that involved these drugs. Is that not what you are looking for?

GEO is a large database of gene expression studies and will be quite comprehensive. Are you asking what other repositories to consider using for your search?

Yes, GEO is reliable place to start searching for gene expression data from relevant published studies.
