So I have found the following dataset in GEO (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/query/acc.cgi?acc=GSE104554) but I'm not sure how I am supposed to perform survival analysis on it
Are you expecting someone to look into the dataset and tell you, step by step, how to do this? It may serve you better to read the original paper and see how they did it.
I agree with Mensur. The best thing you can do is to read the paper, try to replicate the analysis and ask here any technical, definite question regarding any difficulty you may find. This will greatly increase the probability that you get a response. You may also refer to this guide on how to increase the probability of having answers to your questions.
No I wasnt expecting someone to do it for me. I tried to follow some guides online and used R studio to perform survival analysis. However, it resulted in a blank table and it kept crashing.
You are still doing the same thing. It would be like saying that you tried to make pasta puttanesca, but it didn't work. There are many ways to do things and even more ways for them to fail. Until you say what is it exactly that you tried and what step failed, you are still asking us to develop a protocol for you from the scratch.
People here are friendly and knowledgeable, and there would have been an answer already if you asked something that had a simple solution. That not being the case, you have to show some effort before others spend effort trying to help you. Otherwise, this is no different from ordering a free meal and expecting someone to serve it to you.
There are books, such as "An Introduction to Statistical Learning" by James et al. and "Statistics" by Crawley, that explain how to do survival analysis.
