Hello. I'm a bioinformatics student of a masters degree.
I have still a lot of lessons ahead, but I want to start putting in practice all the knowledge I have gathered by far. So I wondered, are there any projects I can join for free? I want to start earning experience as soon as possible. Don't get me wrong, I like my teachers and their lessons, but sometimes I feel that I need to face real life challenges in order to deeply understand the concepts the teachers explain to me.
Also, I am going through some python and R courses on codecademy, and I have made some challenges in codewars. These websites are nice, but still not quite what I'm looking for.
So here is the question: do you know if there are any projects that accept bioinformaticians with little experience as volunteers?
Thank you for your time!
You could join the nf-core community! There is always work to do, e.g. developing a new module, contributing to a pipeline or help with your Python experience to improve the helper tools.
Ok! I will visit their page later and contact them, if possible, to join them! Thank you so much!
