We encountered a case involving samples of bacteriophages. Initially, PCR-based identification utilizing specific primers yielded classifications of Myoviridae/Felixo1 virus . However, subsequent sequence-based taxonomy through whole-genome sequencing unveiled divergent classifications of Siphoviridae and Kagunavirus for the two samples and Myoviridae and Vequintavirus for the other sample. What do you think is the scientific reason behind this discrepancy?
