Hi

I am trying to understand the fields in a TCGA barcode which is separated by decimal points/dots For example

https://portal.gdc.cancer.gov/files/00117a5c-d9eb-4081-be23-35eb193949fc

The filename for the pathology report is TCGA-AK-3460.95FC84F5-4FB3-4CE7-ACD0-C7E0D8F03DD7.PDF

I do not understand what the field 95FC84F5 means which is separated by a dot from the patient ID.

The wiki https://docs.gdc.cancer.gov/Encyclopedia/pages/TCGA_Barcode/ does not seem to describe this scenario.

Can anyone guide me towards a tutorial?

Thanks in advance.

I think the two components to this file name are TCGA-AK-3460 and 95FC84F5-4FB3-4CE7-ACD0-C7E0D8F03DD7.PDF. The PDF has a UID and it's merely being combined with TCGA barcode to get to the final file name.

second this. The "95FC84F5-4FB3-4CE7-ACD0-C7E0D8F03DD7" is obviously an UUID, not related to TCGA barcode
