Hi,
I received a cram file and using samtools I was looking to find the cram file version in the header.
samtools view -H <myfile.cram>
What I found is
@HD VN:1.4 SO:coordinate
but this seems more for a BAM version?
How can I know the cram version of the file?
Thanks!
I think is correct your code, I take as output v3.0 which is much more normal than 1.4. Thanks a lot!

Pierre, this person has not responded to their previous posts. Can you have your script/bot do its thing please?
not sure what is your personal problem with me. I upvoted the answer yesterday before your message and cosnidering that both Pierre and I are not sure for the answer (but unless I'm wrong the CRAM version == BAM version) I left open the post for some more time to see if someone else confirm.
Have you responded to all your previous posts? I do not have a personal problem with you, I have a problem with your misuse (at least in my opinion) of the forum
