Can sequenced reads from oxford nanopore technology be paired-end? or it's only single end? for DNA and RNA.
There are no paired end protocols at all the ONT sequencing, it is all single end. Duplex reads (since ca. 2023) is where the same strand is read twice, and the basecaller Dorado is used to create a higher quality (Q30) sequence rather than the standard Q20 sequences from the signal.
This is not paired end sequencing.
As others have stated it only single end. There are many different flavours of DNA and RNA sequencing they offer though.
You can use PCR amplified sequencing for both DNA and RNA, which can be barcoded and multiplexed. And then there is direct DNA and RNA sequencing which can be used to detect DNA and RNA modifications like methylation and remove any biases associated with PCR amplification.
