Testing ghost species using f3 statistics

I have a simple but naive question.

Suppose this phylogeny (A, (B,C)). We want to test gene flow from ghost species outside of this tree to C.

If this gene flow exists, we will expect the overrepresentation of this genotype: 0, 0, 1 for A, B, and C, respectively.

Then, f3 = (c-a)*(c-b)=(1-0)*(1-0) = 1 > 0.

Thus, if f3 is higher than zero, it supports the existence of gene flow from ghost species.

Do you think this logic makes sense?
