WHO WE ARE?
Our group is based at the Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute in the beautiful city of San Sebastian, Spain. It is integrated within the structure of Donostia University Hospital-Onkologikoa, the main node for cancer patients in the region. Ours is a multidisciplinary group formed by cancer researchers, immunologists, medical oncologists, pathologists and surgeons. Our research is focused on the molecular mechanisms mediating breast cancer metastasis, with a particular emphasis on the role of inflammation in the tumour microenvironment. Our aims are to design new therapeutic strategies to block cancer-promoting inflammation and to identify new predictive markers for cancer immunotherapies. To address these aims, we use a combination of complementary research approaches: relevant pre-clinical in vivo models, cell culture experiments, analysis of clinical samples and integration of multi-omics analysis of breast cancer (scRNAseq, transcriptomics, proteomics, spatial transcriptomics…)
We are looking for a passionate and motivated bioinformatician (postdoctoral researcher or PhD student) to join our team! We offer a 3 year-contract that can be extended depending on availability of funds. The selected candidate is expected to start March-June 2024.

The position seems very appealing, and the team and location appear to be excellent. However, the three-year contract makes it challenging for me to contemplate returning to Spain

Hi, the project looks really interesting... just one question. Are there more bioinformaticians in the group or is it only the one who applies for this position?
Hi, I cannot answer to that question, sorry (I don't belong to the group, I just spread the offer). However, you can always send them an email (it is above) and ask about it:)
